For the past couple of weeks, the CRUSH studio has had the pleasure of photography student Caitlin’s company.
Joining us as part of her work placement from Leeds Trinity University, Caitlin’s time here has seen her observe and build on her knowledge of how photography plays an important role in the world of brand and graphic design.
In Caitlin’s words…
“I am currently pursuing a degree in Photography at Leeds Trinity University. As part of the placement/work experience element of my first year, I had the opportunity to join CRUSH to gain insight into how photography is applied within the professional design industry.
During my time at CRUSH, I have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside such a talented and creative team. The experience has allowed me to observe and participate in real-world projects, offering me valuable exposure to the collaborative nature of design work and the role photography plays within it.
Throughout my placement, I have developed a range of practical skills learning how to align photographic work with brand identity and creative briefs. These are insights that will significantly enhance both my academic work and future professional endeavours.
CRUSH has truly helped me push the boundaries of my photographic potential. I feel inspired, better equipped, and incredibly grateful for the support and mentorship provided by the team. This experience has not only enriched my current studies but has also given me greater confidence as I prepare for a career in the creative industry.
These photographs represent a diverse array of projects I undertook during my time at CRUSH. They showcase everything from shoots for clients at Unthank Farm to more stylised imagery intended for digital use on websites or social media platforms, with careful consideration given to composition and negative space, allowing room for the design team to incorporate text or graphic elements.”
Caitlin is now heading back to Leeds to complete the rest of her first year. We wish her the best of luck (not that she’ll need it!) for her future studies, and hope to see her again soon!
