The sponsorship, along with being nominees for Best Enterprising Business, felt like the right thing to do. As a design agency, we’ve been based here in Chesterfield for over 20 years. But it’s not just our place of work – it’s where we live, where we spend our time, and where we feel most proud to be part of.

Why we’ve chosen to support Sole Trader of the Year

Some of the most resilient, creative and successful businesses out there started with just one person, striking out on their own. CRUSH certainly did. 

In 2003, our Founder Natalie set out as a young designer with a simple ambition: to give businesses of all sizes access to honest, strategic brand and design support that can genuinely make a difference. Great work, with real results. Over our 23 years, what started as a one-woman-band has grown into an award-winning agency with an international client base, all whilst remaining in our home town of Chesterfield.

For us, supporting Sole Traders at the Chesterfield Business Awards is our chance to give back to our local community, and champion the entrepreneurs behind sole trader businesses in the region.

Sole traders are often the most underrecognised people in any business community. They carry the full weight of running a business, from the vision, the delivery, the finances, and the late nights, without a team to share the load. The Sole Trader of the Year category exists to change that, and give Sole Traders the recognition they deserve.

About the Chesterfield Business Awards

The ceremony for the awards takes place on Wednesday 1st July at Casa Hotel, and we cannot wait. It’s shaping up to be a brilliant evening for the whole Chesterfield business community; a chance to celebrate everything our town has to offer.
