Reimagining Cluedo into a cybersecurity education tool

Reimagining Cluedo into a cybersecurity education tool

Inspired by a love of classic British board games, ‘Vulnerable’ is Arrow ECS’s latest gamified marketing project on a mission to engage with consumers a little differently.

Much like that of the bespoke LEGO city CRUSH designed for Arrow’s Fortinet partners, the core objective of ‘Vulnerable’ is to educate – through play – Arrow’s sales teams on Tenable’s vast cybersecurity product portfolio.

Product-complexity calls for clever comms

If your product is niche, specialised or highly technical, you’ll need to work harder to sell it – it’s as simple as that.

As a leading cybersecurity company for the UK and beyond, Tenable’s cyber solutions are complex, difficult to decipher and hard to communicate to those that need them.

The idea behind ‘Vulnerable’ was to re-name and re-think Cluedo into a game for Tenable partners to physically get involved and learn all about Tenable’s products through real action. Armed with better product knowledge, after playing the game, partners are more equipped to communicate key aspects of Tenable’s products, their foundational offerings and core value to businesses.

“Our designers relished working on ‘Vulnerable’. We all know and love Cluedo, so it was a real joy to get to reimagine it in such a unique, inventive way.

We transformed the Ballroom into the Data Centre. Colonel Mustard became Captain Cloud. Weapons were renamed from Candlestick to Shellshock. The list goes on! It really was a fun project that the whole creative team got involved in.”

– Natalie Burkinshaw, Founder and Creative Director of CRUSH
